Contributor FAQ or (Frequently Asked Questions)

What should I write about?

To get a sense for the type of work we publish, read our site! We enjoy posts that include topics such as military, first responders, women, food, humor, fitness, or any other manly topic you can think of. Try to think outside the box on this one. Try to write in the “first person” voice as much as possible, then support your advice or thoughts with personal experience or stories.

Can I repost my submission on my blog?

No. If we run your post on The Man Feed, we retain the rights to that content. We don’t allow republishing on your own blog or any other website. (Reposting content can hurt SEO traffic results for everyone involved. That’s never a good thing.)

How long should my posts be?

Typically, our articles are between 350-900 words. If your post has a nice set of images or a solid video, it can be shorter pending editor approval.

Should I include links within the piece?

Yes. You should always try to include links where your readers can find more information about the subject they’re reading. If possible, try to include a link to another article on The Man Feed. You can search our articles using the search icon in the menu. Insert your links like you would in any WYSIWYG editor.

Should I write a headline?

Sure, we’d love for you to come up with the headline but please keep in mind we may or may not tweak it for search engine optimization or attention seeking. That’ll be up to us but if you suggest a good one, it makes our lives a lot easier.

Will you edit my post?

We may edit for content and/or clarity. However, we will do our absolute best to preserve your voice. If requested, we’ll send you a copy of the edits.

What should I do after I submit my post?

If your article runs, we encourage you to be active in the comments and share it with your friends and family via social media, email, or any other platform you like.
